HOW DO I REMOVE WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER FROM MY COMPUTER?

The media player is a feature of the Windows Operating System, and it can't be removed.  It is possible, depending on what version of the player and which Windows platform you are using.  To revert to an earlier version of the player or to disable access to its use.

To revert to an earlier version of Windows Media Player (9 or later) follow these steps:

For Windows ME (Millennium Ed), Windows XP Home Edition, or Windows XP Professional

Use System Restore in Windows.  Windows Media Player 9 series will be removed and the previous player version will be restored.

To review detailed information before proceeding with Systems Restore, go to:

With this procedure, CD tracks (library) that you've saved on your computer will remain, and you can play them on the previous version you now have on your PC.

For Windows 98 2nd Edition or Windows 2000

Go to the Control Panel

Click on Add/Remove programs

Click on Windows Media Player

As a result, Windows Media Player 9 version will be removed.
